MUDr. Miriam Habánová graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Comenius University in Bratislava - General Medicine program and obtained her first degree specialization in neurology in 1998. She worked at the Neurology Department at Trnava University Hospital, then practiced at several outpatient clinics in Bratislava. She has been working at Mlynská dolina polyclinic since 2014.

In her professional practice, she focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the peripheral and central nervous system, including headaches, dizziness, spinal disorders, polyneuropathies, cerebrovascular accidents, epilepsies, neurodegenerative diseases and others.

As part of a comprehensive neurological examination, she determines the cause of the patient's problems (pain, numbness, weakness, dizziness, consciousness disorders, sleep disorders, memory disorders, gait disorders, cramps, tremors and others). As part of differential diagnosis, she plans specialized auxiliary neurological examinations (blood tests, EEG, EMG, CT, MR), through which she makes a diagnostic conclusion and sets the correct treatment, or recommends rehabilitation and further procedure.

When dealing with acute painful conditions, it is possible to indicate infusion therapy or apply local injections. If the patient's condition requires a special neurological examination at a higher-level facility, she will arrange a consultation with medical experts at specialized neurological clinics.

The goal of a neurological examination is to establish the correct diagnosis, treatment and further patient management as soon as possible.
